About this festival

The Race 4 Recovery 5K is an annual run/walk event that is based on providing immediate action to those threatened from addiction and overdose. This run/walk is to promote awareness, break down stigmas associated with addition, honor those that have been lost, and support those who currently are in the fight. The Race will be held at RIO Washingtonian Center in Gaithersburg, The event will have live music, a DJ, giveaways, food, prizes and fantastic gift bags. Join the Mayor, County Council Members, Media, National and local sponsorship and many throughout the community, we need your support. The Knight Foundation was created in honor of my son Trevor J. Knight. He was brilliant, talented, loving, gentle, and had a heart of gold. Trevor battled with addiction for a number of years. Two weeks prior to his 21st birthday, he lost his battle with addiction by a horrific and tragic overdose. The foundation is committed to honoring my son by helping those who are suffering from addiction. Ultimately we want to save lives. To accomplish this we must bring awareness of this epidemic to every corner of the country, teardown stigmas related to addiction, educate the public on what they can do, work towards prevention within the schools/churches/and community, and assist family and friends that have lost loved ones.
