Strawberry Festival

June 4, 2026 Ramsey NJ Train Station

About this festival

Members of The Woman's Club of Ramsey will dish out free strawberry shortcake on Sunday, June 4, at the Ramsey Farmer's Market at the train station. The Strawberry Festival celebrates Ramsey-s farming past and its historic link to ?red gold? ? the strawberries that were Ramsey-s best cash crop. When the Ramsey depot, the oldest operating passenger station in service in New Jersey, was built in 1868, it wasn-t meant for passengers ? it was a link in the distribution chain for 50,000 baskets of strawberries shipped daily to New York. At the Strawberry Festival, the Club's popular 48-page booklet, What-s What In Ramsey, will be available for $5. The booklet is an indispensable reference for every Ramsey resident, packed with useful facts about Borough services, phone numbers for local organizations, household tips and tricks, and more than 100 favorite recipes. To order the booklet by mail, send $6 to the Woman-s Club of Ramsey, 17 Hopper Terrace, Ramsey NJ 07446. All proceeds from the sale of the book and any donations received during the Club's Strawberry Festival aid people in need and support local schools, the library, the historical society and the arts. The Woman's Club of Ramsey meets September through May on the fourth Tuesday of the month at the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer at 55 Wyckoff Ave., opposite the Ramsey Library.
