Grand Central Oyster Bar to Celebrate National Selfie Day

Grand Central Terminal has become an iconic enclave for self-absorbed photographers from far and wide to take "selfies " to document their historic visits. And so, the Grand Central Oyster Bar will celebrate "National Selfie Day" on Wednesday, June 21. The James Beard Award-winning restaurant will be giving patrons a chance to win a lunch or dinner for two gift certificate, valued at $100, for the best selfie photo that is taken at the restaurant on that day. The competition will be keen. Participants will have a montage of backdrops at the century-old seafood emporium from which to work - from the Saloon and the Lounge bar patrolled by Marcello Hernandez to the famous U-shaped counters and iconic Guastavino tiled ceilings, and, of course, the shuckers shucking away at the raw bar. All entries must be submitted by 11:59 PM on June 21 on the Oyster Bar-s facebook page or via email at [email protected]. Limit of one entry per person only, and entries must include full name and hometown. The Grand Central Oyster Bar is open for lunch and dinner from 11:30 AM to 9:30 PM every day except Sundays.
