14th Annual Heirloom Tomato & Veggie Plant Sale

The Woman's Club of Ramsey is pleased to announce they will be sponsoring their 14th Annual Heirloom Tomato and Veggie Plant Sale on May 20th. The sale will be held from 10 am ? 4 pm in the parking lot of the Masonic Lodge on the corner of Lake Street & Franklin Turnpike in Ramsey. This annual sale is a fund raiser for the Woman-s Club of Ramsey and helps to raise money for their charitable work. There will be a large variety of Heirloom tomato plants offered as well as a great selection of herb, eggplant, squash, lettuce, cabbage, onion and cucumber plants. Also offered will be a multitude of different colored sweet & hot pepper varieties. There will be over 80 varieties of heirloom & hybrid tomatoes available the day of the sale and pre-orders are encouraged to ensure you get your favorite varieties! The famous Ramapo, Moreton & Rutgers varieties of tomato plants will again be offered, as they have been longtime favorites of New Jersey home gardeners for years. This year with increased seed supply from Rutgers, we will have the Rutgers 250, and Campbells 146 varieties. In addition, two other varieties that were developed by Campbells & Heinz in NJ will be available to complete a NJ tomato section of your garden! Included in the many varieties offered are tomato plants which are suitable for patio and container gardening. The plants are grown by Catalpa Ridge Farm, located in Wantage, NJ. If you do wish to pre-order online, please place your order by May 13th for pick up the day of the sale. Pre-orders re not required as there will be plenty of plants the day of the sale.
