About this festival
The best goody bags in running and scrumptious post-race treats are just two reasons Dallas's active community will want to sign up for RAM Racing-s Hot Chocolate 15K/5K Series.
The USATF-certified event hits Dallas on Feb. 4. The race starts at Parry Ave. & Washington St. and finishes at Admiral Nimitz Cir. and Washington St., within Fair Park. Whether you-re a serious or recreational runner, you-ll score Hot Chocolate-s high-end race swag (a coveted zip-up hoodie jacket. After crossing the finish line, racers are rewarded with a mug loaded with fondue and hot chocolate, pretzels, Rice Krispie Treats, cookie straws and bananas. More than 4,000 pounds of melted chocolate are prepared for each race. There are even ?sweet stations? on the course that provide delicious mid-race snacks.
The Hot Chocolate Race benefits the national Ronald McDonald House Charities with portions of the event-s contributions going to the local Dallas chapter of the non-profit. Last season the Hot Chocolate Series generated over $200,000 collectively for RMHC.
Dallas is the ninth stop on a tour that will visit 15 cities - one more than last year-s series that drew a quarter of a million participants coast to coast.
Cost for the 5K is $54.00 while the extended distance fee is $79.00.
