About this festival
The classic, oft-repeated Mick Jagger hit lyrics ?it's only rock 'n roll but I like it? have resonated since 1974, and they will ring true for collectors when a bevy of vintage pieces of rock memorabilia go on the auction block in the on-line ?Fall Classic Auction? from Steiner Sports Memorabilia which continues through October 23.
The music collectibles are highlighted by vintage, acoustic and electric guitars from such musicians of mythical proportions as The Allman Brothers Band, James Taylor, Neil Young, Richie Havens, Jon Bon Jovi, Crosby, Stills & Nash, Dave Matthews, Tim McGraw, Joan Baez and Willie Nelson, just to name a few. They will accompany pieces of sports memorabilia from the collections of such legends as the late, iconic New York Yankees catcher Yogi Berra, Yankees ?Perfect Game? pitcher Don Larsen and football Giants Super Bowl XXV MVP Ottis Anderson.
Ringo Starr signed drum sticks framed with color artwork of Starr by Bart Forbes, and a Carlos Santana signed set of red bongo drums are also among the rare memorabilia available. A Baseball signed by Nelson and a Garth Brooks autographed baseball bat add a sports twist to the music memorabilia.
