About this festival
For the fifth year in a row, RAM Racing-s Hot Chocolate 15K/5K series kicks-off its season in the Mile High City at Civic Center Park. One of the largest running events in the state of Colorado, RAM projects that a record number of runners will participate in Denver in a few weeks. The Hot Chocolate Race benefits the national Ronald McDonald House Charity with portions of the donations going to the local Denver chapter of the non-profit. Last season Hot Chocolate generated over $200,000 collectively for RMHC.
Denver is the first stop on a tour that this year will visit 15 cities ? one more than last year-s series. The Hot Chocolate 15K/5K Race is known for the high-end race swag runners- score in their goody bags, a coveted zip-up hoodie jacket, and for the scrumptious post-race treats it doles out. After crossing the finish line, racers are rewarded with a mug loaded with fondue and hot chocolate, pretzels, Rice Krispie Treats, cookie straws and bananas. More than 4,000 pounds of melted chocolate are prepared for each race.
Registration for both distances is open until Thursday, September 29, 2016. Cost for the 5K is $54.00 while the extended distance fee is $79.00.
