Fairfield Beats Loyola Md. in OT; Stags Travel to Bucknell Sunday

Senior forward Marcus Gilbert returned to the lineup after missing two games with an ankle sprain, and scored 27 points to lead Fairfield (5-5) to a 94-88 overtime win over Loyola Maryland (1-9) at Webster Bank Arena on Tuesday night. Gilbert sank a three-point field goal with 14-seconds left in regulation to tie the game at 78, and force the extra session. Gilbert hit 10 of 11 free throws on the night, including four-for-four in OT to seal the win. Sophomore guard Tyler Nelson sank a three-pointer to give Fairfield a 90-86 lead with 36-seconds left in overtime before Gilbert hit the four free throws put the game away. Fairfield travels to Bucknell to play the Bisons on Sunday, December 27, following the Christmas break.
