About this festival
Illinois' largest Folk Festival featuring eight stages with 35 feature Folk Music & Storytelling acts and over 100 performers presenting concerts, workshops and hands-on teaching of instrumental styles, dance and singing styles. Stages run from 11 AM to 6 PM each day and Sunday evening features an old-time community barn dance from 6 to 7:30 PM and "Ghost Stories" from 7:30 to 10 PM. A Food area, Folk Arts area and a Children's area are also part of the Festival. The Festival is 45 miles West of downtown Chicago's loop with Free parking. The Chicago Metra railroad station is four blocks from the Festival entrance with reduced family rates for Labor Day weekend!! Note that the Festival always runs Sunday and Labor Day Monday.
