Sixth Annual Fall Harvest Festival at Empire City Casino

A dozen elected officials ? members of the New York Assembly and Senate from Westchester, Long Island and New York-s five boroughs ? will go behind the starting gate at Empire City Casino at Yonkers Raceway in the annual?Legislators- Pace? on Saturday, October 11th. The heated political battle over the historic half-mile Yonkers oval is part of the Sixth Annual Fall Harvest Festival, an exciting community event. The Harvest Festival is slated from4:00-8:00 PM trackside at the historic half-mile oval, and will showcase New York State products, as well as the thriving relationship between horse racing and agriculture. The Annual Fall Harvest Festival includes family-fun events such as pony rides, face painting, a pumpkin patch, musical entertainment and more. Those over age 21 will enjoy this year-s newly added Beer Garden offering a large selection of New York State craft beer, along with a Wing Tent that will tempt attendees with a variety of recipes and flavors. Festival goers will be able to vote for their favorite wing flavor and the winning recipe will be featured on the menu of the trackside restaurant, Empire Terrace. A full night of harness racing at the historic track will kick off with a friendly competition as politicians turn horsemen for the night. Members of the New York State Assembly and Senate literally take the driver-s seat at and compete against each other in four non-wagering horse races in the Sixth Annual Legislators- Pace.
