About this festival
Fine Arts Chamber Players announces the 2014-2015 Bancroft Family Concerts in the Horchow Auditorium at the Dallas Museum of Art. Saturday, October 25, 2014 marks the first free performance of the season, featuring strings of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra (DSO) and pianist Gabriel Sanchez. The museum is located at 1717 North Harwood, Dallas, TX 75201. Auditorium doors open at 2:30pm for the 3:00pm concert. Admission to both the concert and museum is free with no reservations required. Bancroft Family Concerts continue on November 22, 2014 with 2015 calendar dates of January 31, February 21, March 28, April 25 and May 9. Dallas Symphony Orchestra musicians Emmanuelle Boisvert (Associate Concertmaster), violinist Bruce Patti, Valerie Dimond, viola, and cellist Nan Zhang perform compositions by Bruce Patti, ?Hymn? and ?Maria-s Waltz?. DSO Staff Pianist Gabriel Sanchez joins the quartet for Brahms- Piano Quintet in F minor, Op.34.
Bancroft Family Concerts are made possible in part by the Sue & Christopher Bancroft Family, Dallas Museum of Art, Union Pacific Foundation, City of Dallas Office of Cultural Affairs, TACA, Texas Commission on the Arts, National Endowment for the Arts and Sloan Bergmann Print Services. For over 34 years, FACP has presented free classical music programs for the enrichment of North Texas area residents. In addition to the free Bancroft Family Concerts, FACP presents the free Basically Beethoven Festival in July. Each year, FACP-s educational outreach programs, Dream Collectors, residencies, and masterclasses, provide over 500 free educational classes and performances in area public schools. Since its inception in 1981, FACP has served over 210,000 children and performed for over a half-million residents of North Texas.
