The William Inge Theatre Festival

Broadway and Hollywood meet on the prairie. The William Inge Theatre Festival honors great American playwrights and salutes Tom Jone and Harvey Schmidt in 2009. they are co-creators of "The Fantasticks," "110 in the Shade," and many more great musicals. Performances featuring professionals in the evening; daytime events include theater workshops and panels with guest professional artists. Independence, Kansas, is William Inge's hometown. Inge is the Pulizer Prize winning author of "Picnic."
