FAIRFIELD STAGS VISIT MANHATTAN COLLEGE TO TAKE ON JASPERS

Buoyed by senior forward Maurice Barrow (Christ the King/Queen, NY) recording his 1,000th career point milestone to lead the way in last Saturday-s win at Bucknell, the Fairfield Stags travel to Riverdale, New York, this Saturday, January 4, 2014 to take on their MAAC Conference rival Manhattan Jaspers at Draddy Gymnasium. Under head coach Sydney Johnson, Fairfield has won two of its last three games to increase their overall record to 3-9. Manhattan, coached by Steve Masiello, has an overall mark of 9-2. Both teams also play conference rivals on Thursday night (January 2) , with Fairfield traveling to Poughkeepsie to take on Marist College, while Manhattan visits St. Peter-s at Jersey City. The Jaspers are led by senior George Beamon (Rosyln/Roslyn, N.Y), who earned MAAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week of December 16. He is the second Jasper to receive the honor this season after Michael Alvarado (All Hallows/Bronx, N.Y.) garnered the award after the first weekend of the season
