About this festival

Cullman Oktoberfest is an eight-day festival with live music featured every day at the Festhalle Market Platz. Authentic German meals, traditional German music, and some of the best craft beers in the south are available to all to experience and enjoy. Visit the entertainment Platz and our main stage for German Oompa Music at its best, or visit the beer gardens to wet your whistle while tasting one of our finest Alabama Craft Beer. The official schedule includes Historic Walking Tours, delicious German cuisine, planned children activities, 5 and 10k run through the city, Kinder Art Park, arts and crafts, fresh produce from the farmers market, student art show, and car show and our 2nd Annual Bed Race. Visitors to our city can watch the crowning of Ms. Oktoberfest, Bratwurst Tasting, free tours at the Cullman County Museum-Civil War Exhibit, participate in the Bratwurst Eating Contest, watch the BBQ State cook off, or sit back, relax and just enjoy the atmosphere of a community remembering and celebrating German heritage. The event is pet friendly with activities planned for animal lovers of all kind. In addition to our Traditional German Music by Terry Cavanagh and the Alpine Express, and Wolfgang Moritz, the main stage will feature bands that feature rock, county, covers and originals. North Alabama will be jamming with the sounds of MP4, Big Daddy Kingfish, Round 2, Georgia Red Clay and many more. New events will include additional music venues located throughout the historic downtown area were you can experience fine dining at the All Steak, wings, beer and brats at the Downtown Grill, a little German beer with your selection of German food at Busy Bee, or a little bumping German style with some BBQ at Moe-s.
