The 27th Annual Pakistan Festival, a celebration of the diversity and community spirit that is found in the Washington Metropolitan Area will be celebrated on Sunday, August 18th, 2013 at Bull Run Park (Special Events Center), 7700 Bull Run Drive, Centreville, VA 20121. Pakistan Festival brings together hundreds of thousands of families of multi-ethnic backgrounds to experience new cultures and learn about the heritage and culture of Pakistani-American community through performing arts with a rich variety of live musical and dance performances from around the world. This is an all-day event, the festival opens at 2 pm until 9 pm, featuring a Talent Show, authentic Pakistani Cuisine, and fun activities for children, carnival games, rides, moon bounce, volleyball, badminton, laser tag, cricket, kite flying with kites from Pakistan, and an outdoor bazaar featuring jewelry and boutiques exhibiting contemporary and traditional designs. We’re proud of our youth for taking the initiative to raise awareness and funds for a charitable organization in Pakistan called HOPE for their efforts and contributions in providing services of health and education for the poor and needy in Pakistan. HOPE (Health Oriented Preventive Education) (http://www.hope-ngo.com/ includes provision of healthcare through hospitals and maternal and child health centers. In addition, education for children is provided through formal and informal schools. Vocational centers provide computers and vocational training for youth.
