About this festival
Surrounded by a rich musical and southern culture the Macon Film Festival celebrates independent films while promoting film making for entertainment, inspiration education, and economic development. A true filmmaker focused event the festival works to introduce visiting filmmakers and guests to the Central Georgia community, and to promote film production throughout the region. The Macon Film Festival is open to filmmakers working in all media, genres, and themes.
After a successful eighth year in February 2013 the annual Macon Film Festival is heading into its ninth year with a four day festival scheduled for February 6th - 9th, 2014. Macon Film Festival is a unique film festival in that official selection films screen in three different historic venues throughout downtown Macon. Along with festival submissions the festival also includes special screenings, events, and workshops with celebrity guest and invited experts.
