Fraser Valley Bald Eagle Festival

November 16, 2013 – November 17, 2013 Mission, BC

About this festival

Discover the Valley of the Eagles. On the third weekend of November the Fraser Valley Bald Eagle Festival celebrates the yearly return of one of the largest populations of over-wintering bald eagles in North America. The majestic raptors arrive to feast on the remains of salmon spawning in the Harrison and Fraser Rivers. In 2010 over 7000 of the majestic birds were counted in an area that covers only 2 square miles. This annual event has captured the attention of bird enthusiasts across the globe. This two day festival is created for everyone of all ages, with many educational and fun activities. From Mission to Harrison Mills, several participating venues offer excellent eagle watching opportunities and a range of activities and adventures that include jet boat eco-river tours; a Chehalis River walking tour; a diverse abundance of local wildlife; environmental presentations, naturalists and interpreters; historic and ancient aboriginal sites; displays by local artists, souvenirs to purchase and great entertainment.
