Salsa is a mixture of various Latin rhythms and dances. It originated in Cuba and Puerto Rico and emerged from New York City in the 1950s. As a dance form, Salsa has vastly grown and spread to many countries including the US, Germany, Canada, and Japan. Salsa is now the fastest growing dance form in the world! Latin American film and music stars, such as Tito Puente, Celia Cruz, Jennifer Lopez, Mark Anthony, and Ricky Martin, have brought greater attention to Latin music and culture. Salsa will continue to expand, and our intention is to continue this movement in the Philippines since our country is rich in Latin history and influence. The 2008 Philippine Salsa Festival will bring the best Salsa instructors in the world!
