CURE ON THE COLORADO FUNDRAISER BENEFITS CANCER RESEARCH SMITHVILLE - The Friends of the Science Park will continue to support the mission of the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center Science Park to "make cancer history" on Saturday, May 12th with the second annual "Cure on the Colorado" fundraising event that benefits research and education. This event takes place at Vernon L. Richards Riverbend Park just outside of Smithville and features dinner catered by chef John Chabot, live and silent auctions and a double-set live show by The Marshall Ford Swing Band. Gates will open at 5:00 p.m., and the event ends at 9:00 p.m. Admission price per person is $25 pre-sale and $35 at the gate, which includes dinner, live entertainment, and access to the auctions. Tickets are available locally at the Smithville Area Chamber of Commerce or from members of Friends of the Science Park. Tickets may also be purchased online at Front Gate Tickets. Sponsorships are also available for this event at levels of $5,000 (Diamond), $2,500 (Platinum), $1,000 (Gold), $500 (Silver) and $250 (Bronze), all of which include tickets to the event.
