It is usually held in the month of June, and the festival draws many guitarists and guitar enthusiasts from all over the world to Thailand. The Asia Guitar Festival is the result of a collaborative project between the Thailand Guitar Society and the Siam City Hotel. This annual event features many performances and guitar competitions that are spaced out during a three-day period. The Asia International Guitar festival features a number of categories for performers and competition events, including a junior category and a senior category. The festival offers three prizes that can be won in each category, as well as a merit prize and the Thai Best Player Award. Guests and participants can also attend guitar classes from the various guitar masters and players that participate in the event. Other activities of the festival include concerts and guitar exhibitions. Aside from its Asian master guitarists, the festival also draws in reputed guitarists from Europe, America and South America, who come to Bangkok just to attend the festival. Ticket prices for the Asia International Guitar festival vary and depend on the event. Concert tickets for participants can cost around 400 baht for students and 600 baht for adults. Visitors will only have to pay 200 baht for watching the events or observing a master-class. The Siam Hotel also offers an Asia Guitar Festival Package that includes accommodation for five nights.
