Get ready Grosse Pointe for your first-ever Live Green Fair and Home Show coming Saturday, April 21st, from 10AM to 6PM and Sunday, April 22nd, 12PM to 5PM at the Grosse Pointe North High School (707 Vernier Road, Grosse Pointe Woods, MI 48236). The Live Green Fair will feature 60 exhibitors with products to help you live green and reduce your carbon footprint. The Grosse Pointe Woods Live Green Fair and Home Show is sponsored in part by WDET Public Radio, Greening Detroit and Natural Awakenings Magazine.
The Live Green Fair and Home Show will feature plenty of great ideas on how to save money on your energy bills by installing super-insulated windows, doors, siding and roofs, home insulation, energy-efficient furnaces, water heaters, and air conditioners and plenty of great ideas to help you live a green and sustainable life.
Exhibitors will be on hand and are experts in their fields and will be happy to answer your questions.
Bring your unwanted shoes to the Live Green Fair and we will send them to Africa. Live Green Fair's goal is to collect over 1,000 pairs of shoes at these events.
Bring your extra/obsolete televisions, computers, monitors, printers, cellular phones, and other electronics and we will recycle the recyclable parts and properly dispose of the hazardous parts safely.
Experts will be available at the Live Green Fair to register attendees for a personal home inspection and to suggest ways to save energy and money at the same time.
The Grosse Pointe Woods Live Green Fair and Home Show is just $5 admission to the public with free admission for children under 12 and any student with valid school ID.
Bring a $5 non-perishable food donation to the food bank at the Grosse Pointe Woods Live Green Fair and Home Show at the Fairgrounds and receive FREE ADMISSION.
The 2012 Live Green Fair and Home Show event will be organized into two different sections designed to entertain and enlighten those pursuing an eco-friendly lifestyle. These sections will include:
The Live Green Fair will feature all kinds of great green ideas including solar, wind and geothermal power generation displays, natural soaps, natural vitamins, Scentsy Wickless Candles, Burts Bees, art made from recycled materials, organic lollypops, hemp candy, even free tastes including organic roasted almonds, organic kettle korn, and nitrate-free beef
The Green Home Show will feature home needs and energy conservation information, including super-insulating windows, high-efficiency furnaces, rain barrels, composters, worm composting, organic lawn care, kitchen and bath replacement experts, safe house paint, bamboo flooring, and home insulation companies
