A Fishing Derby with a guaranteed prize winning fish; a Wild Game Cook off with a top prize of $100, (one of the most delicious parts of the weekend); hunting and fishing outfitters; fly fishing demonstrations and Red River retailers showing off their great outdoor wares, good looking clothing and accessories (sure to please the ladies!) in the Conference Center and all around town. With the backdrop of the Valle Vidal and Wheeler Peak Wilderness, this event has drawn organizational support from the New Mexico Sports Authority, the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, New Mexico Game and Fish, the Wild Turkey Federation, Rio Costilla Livestock Association, Carson National Forest, Camping World, and the Fish Phone. The goal of the event is to promote what Red River is all about: hunting, fishing, hiking, camping, off-road trail riding and a host of other outdoor activities. Locations The expo will take place inside the Red River Conference Center. Here you will be able to enjoy the local retailers, vendors and the Wild Game Cook-off. You can also sign up for the weekend of activities such as the Red River Fishing Derby, archery shoot, raffles, geocaching, and the wild game cook-off.
