About this festival
May 11th ,12th, & 13th 2012
Gator by the Bay now in its 11th year can easily be considered one of San Diego-s most favorite events. San Diegans have learned to combine the family tradition of celebrating Mothers Day with this exciting and fun filled event that offers everything for the whole family. Gator by the Bay will headline 6 nationally known Cajun and Zydeco Bands from Louisiana, West Texas and California on two Sponsored Stages. Sharing main stages performances are twelve well known Blues, Swing and Country bands. Additionally up to 12 talented and lively community musical groups will perform from two other stages, the Bayou Grove and the Community Stages
Gator by the Bay features something for everyone in the family. A San Diego Culinary School will offer cooking demonstrations of popular Cajun and Creole dishes on Saturday & Sunday. There are free dance lessons all day of Swing, Country, Cajun and Zydeco dances by nationally known instructors. There is a children-s activity center, a quality variety of artisans and product vendors. Each day there is a New Orleans style parade
And then there is the food. Our event offers a carefully chosen collection of food vendors presenting a wide variety of foods emphasizing the Cajun and Creole cultures. Gator by the Bay, direct from Louisiana, imports over 8 thousand pounds of live Crawfish for an authentic ?Louisiana Crawfish Boil?. It just doesn-t get much better than that. Laissez Les Bon Temps Rouler! (let the good times roll)
