48th Annual Topanga Banjo Fiddle Contest & Folk Festival

Since 1961, Southern California's Favorite Old-Time, Folk & Bluegrass Music Festival, to be held on May 18, 2008 from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. at the Paramount Movie Ranch on Cornell Road in the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area on Western film sets and mountain locations. This year Topanga features over 100 singing/playing contestants competing for $7,500 in cash and gift awards and many professional bands, including Celtic-bluegrass duo Jamie Laval & Ashley Broder, old-time band The Stairwell Sisters and bluegrass band, Simon Pure. The Festival also features folk singing, international folk dancing, folk arts booths, jamming musicians and children-s music and crafts! Parking and shuttle bus are free!
