International Newgrass Festival

With two hugely successful years behind us, the International Newgrass Festival returns for Year Three this summer to Ballance Farms, just outside Bowling Green, KY in Oakland! Make plans to attend the premiere music event in Southern Kentucky and hear tunes from original members of Newgrass Revival- Sam Bush and Curtis Burch- plus many more artists to be determined! Newgrass music draws heavily on the variety of music forms that came before, but has long been recognized as it's own distinct musical genre. After 38 years or more since the recognition of newgrass music as a unique and highly advanced artform, we're ready to again enjoy a newgrass festival. Our festival location is where Sam Bush [father of newgrass] was born and grew up, where Courtney Johnson lived out his life, where Courtney's wife Hazel still resides, where John Cowan once lived, and where Curtis Burch lives and teaches the next generation today- Beautiful Kentucky.
