About this festival
The Midwest's biggest charity book sale with hundreds of thousands of items priced to sell from $1 to $5. Books, movies, music and ephemera in 150 categories fill the Macy's east parking garage at West County Center. The massive book sale, a St. Louis tradition, offers hundreds of thousands of items for sale, including books, movies, music and items of ephemera in 150 categories. Popular categories range from cook books, fiction and biographies to histories, mysteries and business. CDs, DVDs, comic books and posters are among the popular items for sale. Collections of four to six copies of the same popular, recent titles are sold together as ?Book Club to Go? sets for an instant and inexpensive book club selection. In honor of the 150th anniversary of the American Civil War, a special section of Civil War-related books will be featured for sale. Opening night, Thursday, April 28, includes an auction of rare, out-of-print and collectible books. A preview is offered from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. and the auction begins at 7:30 p.m. A list of auction items is available online at www.StLouisBookFair.org
