Day at the Docks is the largest, one day, outdoor event celebrating saltwater sportfishing on the West Coast. For the past 31 years, the Port of San Diego and the San Diego Sportfishing fleet have celebrated the start of their fishing season. Upwards of 25,000 sportfishing enthusiast and their families flock to this free event. The event boasts that there is something of interest for everyone in the family. Boat rides and ?open house? inspections of the 70 + boats in fleet. There are free seminars on tips and techniques on catching, care and the cooking your fish from well known experts. Knot tying and casting contests with super prizes all donated by the attending tackle manufacturers. There is the Kids Fishing Adventure promoting a ?catch and release? program for all youngsters from the ages of 4-12. AND IT-S FREE
