Persian Festival of Autumn. Mehregan 2010 is scheduled for September 25-26, 2010 at Lakeview Lagoon Park in Irvine, Orange County California next to Wild Rivers. The 14th annual event celebrates Persian culture with music, dance, artwork, crafts, traditional Persian cuisine, Traditional Tea House, and costumes. The festival represents Iranian Americans' interest in their heritage and commitment to share that heritage with the community. Mehregan (pronounced 'meh-re-gahn'), is celebration of nature from ancient Persian Goddess Mehr, the spirit of love, knowledge and commitment. This two-day outdoor family event, is a tapestry of many aspects of Persian culture including art exhibits, traditional music, folk dances, crafts, ancient sports, live performances, pop entertainers, movies, children's activities, teen ager's lounge, poetry, exotic food and a show case of the different provinces of modern Iran. Mehregan is a non-profit event and created by a volunteer based team with members of all age groups from affiliated organizations committed to community service.
