About this festival
Festival513 returns this summer to coincide with the Macy-s Music Festival held at Paul Brown Stadium. Festival513 serves as a complementary event meeting the needs of the nearly 40,000 Macy-s Music Festival patrons expected that weekend. Strategically located on Elm Street directly in front of Paul Brown Stadium, Festival513 transforms the thoroughfare into a convenient and centralized shopping area of food and general merchandise vendors. Festival513 is certain to capture the attention and enthusiasm of festival patrons as well as the general public. Hours of operation are Friday 6:00 pm until 2:00 am and Saturday 10:00 am until 2:00 am. The event is free and open for all to attend. Macys Music Festival began in 1962, a pure jazz event at Carthage Fairgrounds. It evolved into the largest rhythm and blues festival in the country, with a total economic impact of $25 million, according to to a 2000 report released by the Greater Cincinnati Center for Economic Education at the University of Cincinnati. It is more than just a concert, its an event! Its a place for people-watch, eat, drink, shop, mingle, relax, soak in the rays, and of course hear some of the worlds finest contemporary music. This years lineup will be one the most diverse and electrifying in the Festivals history. The incredible combination of R&B, Hip-Hop and Jazz offers musical variety for every taste.
Since its inception in 1962, the Festival has continually showcased the biggest names in contemporary music. Past performers include David Sanborn, Luther Vandross, Randy Crawford, Will Downing, Grover Washington, Jr., George Duke, Chaka Kahn, Patti LaBelle, Maysa, Nancy Wilson, Al Jarreau, and many, many more.
