About this festival
Mighty Mud Mania
The muddiest show on earth returns Saturday, June 19th as Henkel Consumer Goods Inc., marketers of well known brands such as Dial soaps, Purex laundry detergents, Renuzit air fresheners and got2b hair gels, and the City of Scottsdale present the 35th annual Mighty Mud Mania, on Saturday, June 19. (Please note the event is on Saturday, not the traditional Friday).
Activities run from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Chaparral Park, 5401 N. Hayden Road.
The event features activities for kids in two age groups, 6 and younger and those 7 to 17. The younger group can enjoy the Mini-Mud Course, Mudville (a ?funtown? of mud), mini waterslide, mud pit and sand castle building. Older children can try the Original Mud Obstacle Course, waterslides, sandcastle building and mud pits.
Participants must wear lace-up or Velcro shoes (sandals and flip-flops are not allowed) and must bring a signed permission slip or have a parent or guardian available at the event to sign one.
Picky parents will have no worries. Scottsdale firefighters and city plumbers will be on hand to hose down kids before they return home. Fully rinsed kids who bring clean swimsuits and towels can also enjoy a swim at Chaparral Pool from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for just $1.
Residents can call (480) 312-0217 to be put on a list to receive Mighty Mud Mail, or e-mail [email protected] to be put on an e-mail list for detailed information, permission slips, parking map, and more. There is also an answer line at (480) 312-2704 and a Web site, www.scottsdaleaz.gov/mightymudmania.
