Thin Line Film Fest
About this festival
The festival revolves around the "Thin Line" concept that all documentary are both fact and fiction. Although based in reality, documentaries transform the truth through the biased process of the filmmaker. Thin Line Film Fest explores this resulting“gray area” between fact and fiction by screening any film that adheres to the "Style" of documentary filmmaking. Is it fact or fiction? We let the audience decide.
The "Thin Line" concept is broadly stated as the sensitive relationship between two extremes. Although one example is the relationship between fact/fiction, it may also apply to life/death, love/hate, security/freedom, happiness/sorrow, and more.
Thin Line Film Fest provides business and creative networking opportunities among filmmakers, distributors, and financiers from both professional and emerging media makers at the 2008 Industry Conference. This year's conference will include workshops and panels covering a wide variety of production topics.
Thin Line Film Fest takes place in Denton, TX which is located north of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. The city boasts two universities with a combined enrollment of nearly sixty thousand (60,000) students. The larger of the two, the University of North Texas, recently became one of the only schools in the nation to offer a graduate degree in documentary film production. Denton is increasingly becoming known for its cutting edge and unique art scene making this the perfect location for Thin Line Film Fest.
