About this festival

The Fifth Annual Midwest Mandolin Festival, presented by the Mandolin Society of Central Indiana, will be held Saturday June 6, 2009, at Eagle Creek Park Marina Stage, in Indianapolis. In the event of rain, the festival will be held indoors at the Earth Discovery Center in the park! It is a family-friendly event featuring a wide variety of all acoustic music, with each act featuring at least one mandolin. We will also have regional mandolin builders/luthiers at the festival. Free workshops the day of the festival: Jon Hall and Myra Dworski: Beginning Mandolin; Jim Richter: Intermediate and advanced mandolin. Another very cool workshop the day after the festival: Noted jazz mandolinist Don Julin and guitarist Ron Getz will teach a combined mandolin and guitar workshop on Sunday June 7, location and time TBA.
