Conerstone Celebration

'LAYING OF THE CORNERSTONE' Plans for the 100th anniversary of the 'Laying of the Cornerstone' for the Cathedral of the Plains are underway. The celebration will begin with the 10:30 a.m. Mass at St. Fidelis Church on Sunday, October 4, 2009. The St. Fidelis Adult Choir will provide the music. The current church cornerstone will be blessed. The Centennial Planning Committee is looking into obtaining another sculpture of some sort to place at the front of the church in honor of the 100th anniversary. A time capsule containing significant items pertaining to our present day church will be placed inside this sculpture. Following Mass, all attending will be invited to a luncheon social with simple refreshments. The Centennial Committee is also looking at bringing in some special musical entertainment which would follow the luncheon. As plans progress, we will post them here, so stay tuned.
