About this festival
Free 1/2 day event from 8:00 am to noon.
Our mission is to educate and inform the women of Northeast Florida of the most recent advances in breast cancer prevention, early detection and treatment options; to address issues of living beyond breast cancer, including increasing awareness of general good health and wellness, and to update women of legal and insurance issues that affect their healthcare options.
The event was established in 2008 by two physicians; Dr. Linda Sylvester, Medical Oncologist and Dr. Cynthia Anderson, Radiation Oncologist. Guest speaker, Dr. Barbara Bishop, counselor and educator for mental health, will speak on the topic of "Attitude - Your Most Treasured Possession".
Panel discussions with area physicians and healthcare professionals will cover such topics as: What Makes One Breast Cancer Different From Another; The Multidisciplinary Approach to Breast Care; Exercise, Yoga, and Nutrition as Part of Overall Breast Health; Advocacy and Survivorship; Genetic counseling and Family Decision Making.
This is a non-profit public education event. Sponsorships and donation opportunities are avaliable to offset event costs.
