About this festival
The Virginia Peanut Festival is having its 47th year in 2008. Promotion of The Virginia Peanut and the farmers of Southside Virginia and north eastern North Carolina. Carnival begins on the 25th and is open through the 28th. Friday, food, drink and live music. Headliner band at 8pm. Saturday, parade, car show, arts/crafts, food/drink, live music and fireworks at dark. Headliner band at 8pm.Family oriented fun event, civil war encampment, quilt show, information booths. 12 - 16 thousand in attendance during the weekend.
