Ohio Fish & Shrimp Festival

Shrimp in Ohio? Come celebrate Ohio-s Freshwater Shrimp Harvest at the farm. The 8th annual Ohio Fish and Shrimp Festival will be held at Freshwater Farms of Ohio, 1 mile north of Urbana at 2624 N. U.S. Highway 68 on Saturday September 19, 2009 from 10am to 8pm, and Sunday September 20, 2009 from 10am to 6pm. There will be food vendors of all kinds including shrimp and fish specialties. Face painting and kid-s games including water balloon battles, a pirate treasure hunt, frog jumping contest and crawfish races. Kid-s can also enjoy a sand castle play zone and wading pool water games and try your arm at casting rod & reel activities. Visit the encampment of the Munsee Delaware Tribe and discover village life of long ago. Check out the OSU football tailgate party. Watch artists create chalk murals and sand art. See the water gardens and koi displays. Join in on the trout-feeding frenzy. Pet the swimming sturgeon. Eat Ohio-s Freshwater shrimp and take some home to enjoy later.
